Olam’s processing plants span six continents and 15 products with some 100 processing facilities across our supply chains. From a sustainability point of view, measuring and mitigating our environmental footprint is critical, as well as food safety and ensuring a safe work place.
We have continued to strengthen our Corporate Policies on – Health & Safety, Environment & Sustainability and Quality. These form the foundation of the Olam Codes of Practice. All new construction is subject to an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment and subsequent local regulatory approvals. Energy efficiency, water intensity and emissions are key considerations, as well as impact on local communities through effective waste management.
