We have made selective rice processing investments in countries where we believe we can extract greater value directly from the value chain as compared to third party sourcing.

In Thailand for example, we have set up an aggregation, sorting and packing facility that has a capacity of more than 200,000 tonnes per annum and allows us to save freight costs by shipping rice in bulk and in one-tonne bags. In North India, we have a fully-fledged basmati rice paddy origination and processing facility which has the capacity to produce 70,000 tonnes of finished basmati parboiled and non-parboiled rice per annum.
