Olam began its operations in Italy in 2003, as part of a joint venture with local coffee trading company COSCO. The joint company, Lamco Spa, which began trading Coffee from Olam origins into the Italian market, become a wholly-owned Olam subsidiary in 2009 and now markets coffee to the main roasting companies in Italy.

Since our full acquisition of Lamco, Olam’s market share in the Italian coffee market has grown from 6% to 16%. We also stock and resell coffee locally to smaller roasters, trading one million bags annually.

As part of our Italian operations, we also have a small team handling the marketing of wood products.
