I joined Olam more than 12 years ago and am now responsible for our Ribaue cotton concession in Mozambique. I hit the dirt road by 7.00am as a typical day may include up to 7 village visits and 15 cotton field audits. In the past year we have increased the number of cotton farmers from 4,000 to 6,800 and cultivation from 3,700 to 6,500 hectares at Ribaue. However, the achievement I’m proudest of is teaching the farmers how to improve farm yields from 400Kg to 520 Kg per hectare.
